Shared Health leads the planning and coordinates the integration of patient- centered clinical and preventive health services across Manitoba. The organization also delivers some province-wide health services and supports centralized administrative and business functions for Manitoba health organizations.
Position Overview
Are you a creative communicator and engaging storyteller with an eye for design and a passion for digital content creation? Do you want to make a difference and contribute to supporting the health of all Manitobans? Shared Health is currently seeking a content producer to create content that will reach, connect and engage health system audiences and all Manitobans across a variety of platforms. This is a new and exciting opportunity to join Manitoba’s provincial health-care system team. Communications preserves and enhances the reputation of the service delivery organization (SDO) and supports programs and service areas in meeting the needs of their patients, clients, partners and other key stakeholders.
- Craft and provide engaging and thoughtful text, stories, concepts and campaigns for health system audiences and social media platforms that speaks to a wide range of audiences
- Create and edit copy for digital and print communications including draft text for presentations, correspondence and other written materials
- Write quick and accurate correspondence, turning complex ideas into compelling and easy to understand messages
- Collaborate with a creative team to ‘breathe life’ and style into content and campaigns while maintaining a professional tone appropriate for our organization’s varied audiences
- Interview various clients on occasion to create articles for newsletters, recruitment campaigns, annual reports, etc.
- Organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects in a time-sensitive, deadline-driven environment
- Occasionally support creating content and scheduling for social media across various platforms including TikTok with some knowledge of social media analytics, reach and engagement
Experience
- 2 years of experience in copywriting, advertising, agency writing, or story development, preferably in a fast-paced agency, corporate or news media setting
- 2 years of experience preparing communications suitable for a variety of audiences and channels including various social media platforms
- 2 years of experience developing engaging written content for social media, including experience integrating words and visual or graphic effects that speak to varied audiences and compel them to engage
- 2 years of experience with graphic design, videography and photography and working within Adobe CS and Mailchimp
Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
- Post-secondary diploma in communications or graphic design, or related discipline from an accredited educational institution required
- Post-secondary degree is considered an asset
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Certification/Licensure/Registration
- Active member in good standing of an associated regulatory body as appropriate
Qualifications and Skills
- Demonstrated staff level leadership capabilities. The provincial health system in Manitoba has adopted the LEADS in a Caring Environment framework
- Excellent written communication skills, particularly optimized for concise, engaging and easy to understand format with meticulous editing for grammar, spelling and free of language and formatting errors
- Proficient with visual design, content publishing and monitoring tools (eg MeltWater, Hootsuite Google Analytics, Survey Monkey etc.)
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to work safely in a typical computerized office environment with frequent meetings, and to lift and carry items of up to approximately 10 kg
- Interruptions to respond to questions are common dedicated and focused time for planning and concentration can be scheduled
- Occasional travel throughout the province requiring a valid Manitoba driver’s license and use of a personal motor vehicle
- Must be accessible outside of regular scheduled work hours
