Job description
Estates and Facilities Management are seeking to appoint a Water Quality Support Team Operative to support the University’s friendly team of Water Management professionals across campus. The team will report directly to the Water Management Department.
Since the pandemic, as in many workplaces, the University’s method of working has changed, occupancy figures are not at the capacity it once was and therefore a number of little or infrequently used water outlets across the campus have since been identified and now need to be managed effectively to prevent potentially harmful bacteria affecting building’s water systems. The simplest and most effective means of doing this is through water flushing to prevent the water stagnating. As a Water Quality Support Team Operative, you will work with the Water Compliance Team to ensure the water systems within the University of Sheffield buildings are kept to the highest possible standard.
A structured training programme will be provided and progression through the team will be encouraged. Essential training will be provided prior to starting and no experience is needed as all practical and theory training will be provided.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Weekly compliance checks completed on time for Water flushing
- Ensuring all Health and safety standards are adhered to
- Updates for the Operations Supervisor when required
- Ensuring all log sheets for daily, weekly and monthly checks are completed correctly in a timely fashion
- Report all defects to the Operations Supervisor
- Must be able to undertake a physically demanding role.
