Based at our site in Gorton, Manchester we manufacture frozen products for Iceland stores, this is a great opportunity for new members of the Warehouse team to join us at an exciting time of growth within Iceland’s food manufacturing site.
We’ve had to adapt to new ways of working to ensure we are protecting our teams in the current climate, but we’re busier than ever, growing our product range and want to ensure all our operational functions are ready to proactively contribute to the site’s growth.
Role Details
Role: Warehouse Team Leader
Hours: 40 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday from 14:00pm to 22:00pm on our afternoon shift (PM shift)
Salary: 13.65 per hour
Contract: Permanent
Job Description
To oversee the day-to-day efficient receipt, storage and despatch of raw materials and finished products across our on-site facility.
To organise and lead a team of warehouse operatives who are responsible for servicing all production lines. Responsible for the health and safety of anyone working or visiting the warehouse and able to demonstrate full traceability, control and accuracy of all stock whilst adhering to food safety policies.
Responsibilities include;
- Organising and leading a team for the relevant shift pattern. Manage time, attendance and train/development of team members
- Communicate with team on a regular basis to make them aware of priorities, targets and operational requirements
- Ensure comprehensive handovers are given to the following shift
- Ensure the delivery of materials to production lines in accordance with production schedules/WMS system signals
- Manage the relationship with internal functions (Production/Technical/Supply Chain) as required to ensure a smooth operation across the business
- Liaise with suppliers and transport companies as and when required in a timely way
- Ensure inventories are accurate. Ensure stock movements are recorded accurately and stock managed correctly in rotation. Support organising and participate in stock takes at regular intervals
- Identify any systems improvements and make recommendations for change
- Where possible resolve any issues or problems which occur in the warehouse. Where appropriate elevate the issue to a more senior level
Skills & Experience
Essential:
- H&S aware
- People focused
- Structured, logical and organised
- Experience of WMS and best practice
Desirable:
- Food Manufacturing background
- FLT License
