The Distribution Centre services a multi-channel retail operation including online fulfilment, deliveries to over 100 plus stores nationwide and returns processing.
You will join a successful, international retail brand, work within a fast paced, welcoming and growing team.
The normal hours of work will be 40 hours per week with a 30 minute unpaid break each day. This will usually consist of 5 working days and 2 rest days in each week (Monday – Sunday).
Rotating shifts pattern - 9am to 5:30pm and 11:30am to 8pm
- Assist in running an efficient warehouse operation which can fulfil operational demand and meet set targets.
- Communicate with staff on a regular basis to make them aware of priorities, targets, and operational requirements.
- Report progress updates, key achievements, and any concerns to the DC Manager.
- Train new Warehouse operatives within area of responsibility.
- Ensure all the warehouse related tasks are completed up to high standard.
- Produce regular reports and statistics as and when required.
- Manage time and attendance for operatives within area of responsibility and support Managers with people management issues.
- Support with any HR related tasks i.e., Return to Work, note taking and investigations.
- Promote a happy warehouse environment by engaging your team.
- Open or close the site premises.
- Maintain high standards of security in the warehouse.
- Ensure that all equipment is well maintained and used with purpose.
- Ensure all aspects of Health & Safety at Work and Food Safety Acts are strictly adhered to.
- Be able to communicate efficiently with different department and suppliers.
- Identify any improvements and make recommendations for change.
- Support organising and participate in stock takes at regular intervals.
- Previous Warehouse Team Leading/Supervising experience required
- Good understanding of Warehouse processes, procedures, and Warehouse Management Systems
- Previous experience of inventory control
- Strong PC skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to use MS Excel at intermediate level or above
- Excellent people management skills with proven ability to build, lead and motivate a team to optimise their performance and development
- Knowledge and understanding of lean techniques may be advantageous
- A good working knowledge of health and safety and security requirements.
- Certification of First Aid, IOSH, Fire Marshal welcome.
- Reach truck and LLOP licence welcome.
- RTITB or ITSSAR trainer licence welcome.
- Pro-active, self-motivated and results driven
- Strong organisational ability
- Strong numerical and analytical ability
- A supervisory qualification of would also be beneficial.
