Job description
The Role
Location: Manchester
Hours: An average of 42 hours per week on a 4 on 4 off shift pattern - permanent nights
Holiday Entitlement: 24 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays
Duties
- To train and ensure all operatives operate the Packing Line in accordance with operational, food/feed & safety procedures, when required.
- To cover all warehouse and production duties (including use of fork lift truck) in accordance with operational & safety procedures when required.
- To ensure breakdown, faults are attempted at first fix or escalated to the Engineers.
- Ensure the plan is achievable make alterations and inform relevant people to ensure best efficiency.
- Effective use of WMS to ensure accurate stock control, picking & loading is achieved at all times.
- To provide flexibility with working hours as required.
- Cover warehouse Controller duties when required.
- Stock counts are accurate and recorded in line with company procedures.
- To ensure in process CCP’s checked and records maintained.
- To carry out and record, food checks and health and safety checks; reporting any issues found Contribute to the sites Continuous Improvement Agenda.
- To maintain and improve the packing and warehouse area’s cleanliness and hygiene standards; ensuring a clean as you go approach at all times.
- To operate to procedures as defined within site quality, environmental and health and safety systems and standards. Demonstrating the ‘Safety First’ approach at all times.
Skills & Experience
- Good level of Math’s and English
- Computer Literate
- Mechanical Isolation training.
- Fork Lift Truck qualified is desirable (if not already qualified must be achieved within first 6 months).
- Food Safety Level 2, and IOSH managing Safely (to be completed in role).
- Working knowledge of packing equipment.
