Warehouse Supervisor
Leading Asian Food Importer and Distributor is seeking a Warehouse Supervisor who has experience in the import/distribution industry.
Tong Enterprises Inc. is a very well-established Asian food import and distribution company located in Hayward, California. Together with our sister company located in Los Angeles, we have a sales area that covers the U.S. We are a leading company in the Asian food import industry with healthy sales, strong management, excellent staff, and a good benefit package. We are looking for a Warehouse Supervisor with some (1-3years) experience in the import and distribution business and an ability to speak Spanish and/or Chinese (Mandarin or Cantonese). This Warehouse Supervisor position requires forklift certification (sit down and stand up), knowledge of OSHA, warehouse GMP and safety standards.

This position requires previous Warehouse Supervisor experience at least 3 years. The motivated individual is responsible to oversee the receiving, storage, and shipping of inventory as well as for maintaining delivery/pick up schedule, loading schedule, and communicating with other department on order fulfillment status. The candidate must have very good interpersonal skills, as well as excellent communications abilities to succeed at this position. The candidate must proactively and effectively communicate with senior management, management, and subordinates. The candidate must be able to handle a high volume of work while simultaneously leading about less than 10 other warehouse workers and keep constant communication with the Warehouse Manager and Operations Manager at our Southern California office. Problem solving skills and an ability to follow through independently are critical. The candidate needs to be able to work effectively under pressure and to adjust to changing priorities in a dynamic environment.
The candidate needs to have the ability to operate forklift, pallet jack, dollies, and small power tools. This position also requires having the ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Job description includes (but not limited to):
- Maintains receiving, warehousing, and distribution operations by initiating, coordinating, and enforcing program, operational, and personnel policies and procedures
- Safeguards warehouse operations and contents by monitoring security procedures and protocols
- Controls inventory levels by conducting physical counts according to schedule
- Completes warehouse operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and then following up on work results
- Maintains warehouse staff job performance by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees, and further planning, monitoring and appraising job results
- Sets up warehouse layout to ensure efficient space utilization and maximum productivity
- Maintains standards of health, safety, hygiene, and security of the warehouse

Qualifications:
- At least 3-5 years relevant Warehouse Supervisor experience is required
- Must be certified to operate reach forklift and pallet jack
- Prefer to have knowledge of food safety programs (HACCP, GMPs, Sanitation, Pest Control)
- Familiarity in MS Office (Outlook, Excel and Word, etc.)
