George Boyd in Hillington, Glasgow is recruiting now for a Warehouse Supervisor.
George Boyd is a specialist distributor of architectural ironmongery and commercial doorsets.

As a quick learner, you’ll be flexible to work in different areas, take responsibility for the work you do and always show good attention to detail. To supervise our warehouse, you will have:
- Previous supervisory experience gained in a warehouse or distribution team
- Great Communication Skills
- Ironmongery industry experience would be preferred but not essential as training will be provided
- Associate’s degree (or equivalent) in logistics or supply chain management
- Proficiency with SCM+ for warehouses
- License to operate a forklift
Our Warehouse Supervisors are very important to the smooth running of the business, you will be responsible for the safe, continuous and efficient running of the warehouse. The role is important to help ensure products are where they need to be on time and you will be responsible to ensure that the product is ready for the customer to collect. To support our customers effectively you will;
- Be responsible for 15 Warehouse Operatives
- Picking, Loading and unloading deliveries
- Manual lifting for our customers
- Supervision and planning of day to day warehouse and transport operations, taking responsibility for problem solving and managing situations arising
- Work with the Site Manager to identify and action individual and team training needs
- Achievement of warehouse Key Performance Indicators to agreed standards, incorporating productivity, pick accuracy and customer service targets
- Supervise stock control and inventory processes; to include responsibility for purchasing from certain suppliers, as agreed with the Branch Manager
- Support and assist Health and Safety culture to ensure that both staff and customers are free from accidents and that all parties actively endorse a safe and healthy working environment
Hours of work: 7am – 430pm Monday to Friday
Basic salary (depending on experience) Pension + Life Assurance + 33 days holiday
