INTERVIEWER'S GUIDE
Steadiness (High S) - Those people possessing patience, persistence and predictability could hold a distinct advantage over other applicants. Candidates who possess a natural preference for following procedures and recognised systems will usually relate positively to many of the basic requirements of this position. Customer support and servicing skills may often make an important contribution to success in this role. Consistency and reliability could be sought after in the successful applicant. This job will usually be filled by people who are outwardly calm and controlled even under the most trying circumstances. Reactive rather than proactive behavioural styles may be better suited to this role.
Compliance (High C) - Diplomacy and compliance with policy and procedures are several of the characteristics which could be critical for success in this position. It may be important that incumbents subscribe to strict standards of quality and accuracy. It is likely that adherence to systems and procedures could be called for in those people occupying this post. Being unconventional and self-opinionated would, in most cases, not be characteristics sought after in short-listed candidates. Being methodical and precise could constitute prime requirements for success in this job.
Influence (High I) - The possession of leadership and motivational skills, if a requirement, would be beneficial in this role. Those candidates, or incumbents, who are able to establish and cultivate meaningful relationships with others, could be at a distinct advantage. Dominance (Low D) - Incumbents who have the natural skills to exercise caution and care in their day to day responsibilities should find it rewarding working in this position. Independent and strong willed people who are driven to dominate and compete with their peers, are likely to be an unsettling influence in this job. Taking great care with, and evaluating the consequences of, critical decisions will be highly regarded. Risk awareness and concern for the impact of all one's actions will be traits respected in the successful candidate. An unassuming and unpretentious style will be well suited to the critical requirements of this, at times, conservative position.
