• Provide one-on-one and group support to students with ASD and complex needs in a variety of settings.
• Support students with their academic, social, emotional, and sensory development, using a variety of strategies and techniques tailored to their individual needs.
• Collaborate with the teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment that promotes independence and success for students with ASD and complex needs.
• Help students with their personal care needs, including toileting, feeding, and hygiene, in a respectful and sensitive manner, maintaining their dignity and privacy at all times.
• Foster positive relationships with students, their families, and other stakeholders, and provide support and information as needed.

• Relevant experience working with students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and complex needs in an educational or care setting.
• Knowledge of evidence-based strategies and interventions for supporting individuals with ASD and complex needs, including visual supports, social stories, sensory integration, and positive behaviour support.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team, and to follow instructions and guidelines from teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with students, families, and colleagues, both verbally and in writing.
• Sensitivity, patience, and empathy towards students with ASD and complex needs, and a genuine desire to make a positive difference in their lives.
• Ability to adapt and respond to the changing needs of students, and to manage challenging behaviour in a calm and professional manner.
• Basic knowledge of personal care and health and safety procedures, and willingness to undergo relevant training as required.
• Enhanced Child & Adult DBS on the Update Service - or willing to apply.
