To operate as part of the team within the Warehouse to deliver key performance targets, safely, effectively, and efficiently to meet the required customer and technical standards in a way which is consistent with DC UK values and behaviours.
General Responsibilities and Company Values
Working hours:
Working hours for the role is Mon to Fri - 37.5 hrs, but will vary in case of business demands, weekend cover, sickness, holidays.
Mon - Thurs 7.75 hours and on Fri 6.5 hours

Job responsibilities and assignments
Job Purpose: To operate as part of the team within the Warehouse to deliver key performance targets, safely, effectively and efficiently to meet the required customer and technical standards.
Health and Safety
· Wear correct PPE including, clothing, gloves and shoes.
· Comply with food and hygiene requirements and HACCP principles at all times.
· Operate within the Company health and safety standards at all times and ensure that workstations are kept clean and tidy at all times.
· Complete forklift truck checks as required, be vigilant and always operate the forklift truck in line with training procedures.
· Report any hazards or equipment problems immediately to your Department Supervisor and support resolution as appropriate.
Business Performance
· Strive to assist delivery of the key performance targets for your department.
· Ensure Good standards of General Working Practice and that the department Schedules are completed at all times.
· In conjunction with the Department Supervisor continuously review working methods and identify ways to improve efficiency and reduce labour costs and waste whilst maintaining quality and technical standards.
· Contribute to Departmental and Site improvement projects as required.
Operational Responsibilities
· Communicate effectively within the team and be aware of business, departmental and team issues to help maintain an engaged and motivated workforce.
· Complete required Training and Development initiatives.
· Focus on performance to support development and achievement of KPIs.
· Maintain and apply knowledge of warehousing principles through all areas of the Warehouse, including stock rotation, stock taking and identifying short-dated or damaged products.
· Utilise the forklift truck as required, be vigilant and always follow training procedures during operation.
· Ensure HACCP principles and good hygiene practices are adhered to within the Warehouse, complete cleaning schedules and be diligent with regards to monitoring temperatures.
· Act as a role model and demonstrate Core company values, behaviours and high-performance standards at all times.
· Participate in individual performance assessments and reviews in conjunction with senior management and provide appropriate constructive feedback to improve performance.
· Take personal responsibility for own development and ensure knowledge and understanding of all departments’ best practice and factors affecting business performance is kept up to date.
· Assist Goods Inwards in receiving product as required, put stock away in the correct location within the department, pick and collate orders accurately as part of the team.
· Check products are labelled correctly from receipt (batch codes etc) through to despatch (customer codes, order number) to ensure full traceability.
· Organise product for despatch accordingly at end of shift ready for loading crew the following morning, this includes verifying all orders processed for despatch are on the correct pallets.
· Raising awareness to senior management or the sales team of product that is unavailable in all departments, or of deliveries that are late and require expediting.
· Be flexible and assist the Warehouse Manager and Department Supervisors by supporting other warehouse departments as required.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience
· Knowledge and understanding of supply chain – including requirements and expectations from intake through to processing, despatch and the end customer.
· Ability to prioritise workload effectively
· Ability to work under pressure and deliver to deadlines.
· Experience of working within a warehouse environment.
· Knowledge and understanding of the meat industry.
· Knowledge and understanding of factors which affect efficiency e.g. labour costs and waste.
· Teamwork and Communication skills.
