Job description
Imperial Logisitcs are part of the DP World company and offer tailored Logistics Concepts for the automobile, supplier and consumer goods industry. We are currently recruiting for a Warehouse Team Leader (FLT) for our site in Swindon where you will lead and support a team of staff to deliver essential logistics and supply chain services for a fast paced Automotive customer. This position would be responsible for our shift 4pm - 2am.
About the role:
- Responsible for planning, coordinating work, training, motivating, monitoring and evaluating performance of Warehouse FLT team members and ensure their ability to safely operate material handling equipment to move materials.
- Maximise productivity by improving efficiency
- Ensure all operating processes are carried out with Health and safety and the forefront
- Ensure recording of all accidents/incidents and completion of relevant documentation
- Ensure all quality controls are adhered to
- Responsible for effective resource planning in coordination with Shift Managers, Warehouse Operations Manager and end customer stakeholders
- Monitoring of sickness and conducting return to work interviews/first line counselling and disciplinary
- Update and maintain all VCB boards
- Delivery of daily briefs to associates creating a culture that inspires team members to go the extra mile leading by example
- Ensure all PPE requirements are catered for and processes are in place for team members to follow effectively
- Awareness of required KPIs working effectively with leadership and customer stakeholders to manage, maintain and improve standards
- Delivery of induction training for new starters to ensure delivery of excellent standards
- Actively look to improve teams personal development using job chats, PDPs and appraisals
Your key skills:
- Prior demonstratable experience of working within a warehouse environment (manufacturing/production/engineering/logistics etc) in a Team Lead capacity
- FLT Licence ESSENTIAL
- Strong team player with good IT and communication skills (written and verbal)
- Knowledge of legal and statutory requirements within a warehouse environment
- Ability to delegate and explain tasks clearly to others
- Motivational individual, able to be flexible and fluid in service delivery and respond effectively to changing customer demands
