We are recruiting a permanent Warehouse manager to work for one of our well-established, busy and friendly market leading clients based in Walsall.
The hours of work are 08:00am - 17:00pm, working Monday - Friday.
Annual Salary - £40,000.
As a Warehouse manager you will be required to manage the Warehouse and staff, co-ordinating stores and resources to the mutual benefit of both the company and its customers and suppliers. Embrace storage of finished and packed good, managing goods inwards, despatch/distribution and internal and external transport. You will also be required to manage the Warehouse function to provide an effective and efficient service to customers through on time despatch of products to agreed locations.
Description Of Main Duties and Responsibilities
- To Ensure No Material Movements Take Place Without:-Proper And Authorised Documentation
The Appropriate Stock Record and Works Order And Material Location Records Are Properly And Correctly AmendedPrompt And Timely Movement/Storage of Materials as The Case May Be
- The Warehouse Manager will be required to handle technical details relating to international transportation, such as customs regulations and any necessary documentation.
- You will be required to efficiently evaluate the costs of transportation, services and inventory within any budget or distribution strategy.
- The Warehouse Manager must have knowledge of national and international import/export legislation and must be able to effectively troubleshoot any issues that may arise in international freight transportation.
- You will be required to ensure all transport for the movement of national and international customer requirements is booked in a timely manner and within budget restraints
- You will be responsible for training and development of Warehouse Staff and Operatives. To ensure that personnel within the Warehouse function are properly trained to safely and efficiently discharge their duties for which they were employed.
- To identify employees who exhibit personal attributes which may justify promotion and to recommend the appropriate training programme.
- Manage people resources to control and co-ordinate the movement of parts and product through the various packing processes and despatch departments.
- Establish and implement and regularly review the most appropriate stock management procedure as will effectively ensure the proper, recorded movement of each item/batch whilst it is in the ‘ownership’ of a specified department.
- Ensure that all information inputted into the Company computer files by members of the Warehouse function is accurate and on time in order to maintain the total integrity of the Company management information system.
- To act as the focal point for enquiries relating to the stock distribution and availability as may as may be requested from time to time.
- To provide such management guidance to those operating within the Warehouse function so that they may efficiently and effectively discharge their duties.
- Maintain a disciplined workplace operating within the provisions of the Company Staff and Works Rules and appropriate Disciplinary Procedures.
- Maintain a clean and efficient working environment and ensure full compliance with the existing provisions of the Health and Safety at Work Legislation, COSSH and any modifications, additions or improvements that may be introduced
- To be responsible for the administration and operation of the Company Annual Stocktake and for any midterm check that may be deemed necessary. To introduce a system of perpetual inventory which will ensure all major production/fabrication components and parts are checked at least bi-annually.
- To conduct, as called by the computer system, the P.I. checking of product within the Warehouse, to investigate anomalies, reasons, report and modify as and when agreed
- To ensure safe working conditions and proper maintenance to manufacturers specifications of all FLT’s within the Warehouse
- To ensure that parts held in the Warehouse, which may be subsequently be identified by QC as being involved in a quality problem, are correctly identified with the appropriate ‘Hold’ label and the work properly quarantined

GCE Maths, English plus supporting GCSE achievements
