We are currently recruiting a Barista in central London in a well-known media company client site, providing those carefully crafted cups of goodness to our customers, clients and colleagues!
Being the first face many of our colleagues and visitors will see, you’ll be a role model when it comes to what great service will look like. You’ll have a flair for tasty beverages from your flat white to a decaf soya latte, assist with the preparation and serving of dishes and ensure that all areas of the restaurant are kept hygienic and glistening.

Main Responsibilities- To produce and serve all drinks to brand standards and recipes in our coffee shops
- Deliver client’s refreshments and food requirement as per instructions on booking system and procedures agreed
- Ensure that adequate stocks and refreshments are laid out for service periods and prepared for service areas to hospitality standards
- Produce, present and serve all meals efficiently, carry out all necessary waiting duties as required to the unit standards.
- Maintain stock levels/availability by replenishing display/fridges within company guidelines/planograms, rotating stock to ensure compliance with company health & safety guidelines.
- Maintain and clean the coffee shop areas - undertake all aspects of cleaning - equipment, walls up to 6ft, floors, fixtures, fittings, pots, pans, cutlery, crockery, glassware etc., to the required standards according to the cleaning rota or as required
- To sell & demonstrate product knowledge by advising the customer/answering queries & suggesting products to the customer as part of the ordering process. Act on initiative to optimise sales to the customer
- To operate the till in line with brand till operation & cash handling procedures
- Assist the Barista Supervisor informing all supplies that need to be ordered, taking into consideration delivery lead from suppliers
- To make sure supplies are collected and stored in the designated areas, ensuring stock is rotated appropriately
- Participate in any necessary training and team meetings as required to complete job responsibilities to the Company’s and Client’s standards e.g. health & safety, food hygiene, etc.
- Work as a team to promote harmonious working relationships within the Sodexo team.
- To work on the Hospitality floor if required, under the same Hospitality Assistant duties as per training provided when requested.
- Report any customer complaints or compliments and take some remedial action if at all possible.
- Comply with all Company & client policies and statutory regulations relating to Health & Safety, safe working practices, hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This will include awareness of any specific hazards in the work place and training of staff in these.
- Other activities related but not limited to the above-mentioned accountabilities may be required depending on service levels or client requirements.
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Passionate about dealing with people
- Experience of working in a similar industry such as food service, catering or hospitality
- Sound basis of IT knowledge and usage
- NVQ (Desirable)

Package Description

£11.95 per hour Tuesday to Thursday 20 working days plus bank holidays as paid holidays allowance
