Fusion sound and light is a technical production and hire company, supplying the event industry with technical services, lighting, sound, audio-visual equipment and event production. An ideal opportunity for an individual who has a passion for sound, light and event production that wants to further their career in the events industry. The job role is varied, as you will be working with a wide range of AV and event production products to fulfil a variety of event requirements - from weddings, conferences to festivals.
Place of work: Croydon
Weekly Hours: Contract will be on a 40 hour basis on a 5 out of 7 shift pattern, predominantly between Mon – Sat. However, due to nature of the events industry there will be some irregular/unsociable hours for which time will be given back in lieu or as paid overtime.
Holiday: 28 days holiday (inclusive of bank holidays)

In this role you can expect to independently complete various tasks relating to the seamless delivery of an event. This includes leading or assisting with the install and de-rig of event production equipment such as lighting, sound, audio visual, set, stage and rigging. You will be expected to drive the company vehicles to and from event sites, Due to the nature of the work, being physically fit and capable of lifting is essential.
Audio Visual technician
- Maintenance of AV and event production equipment
- Preparation of dry hire equipment for jobs
- Delivery and collection of dry hires
- Preparation of event installation equipment
- Delivery and installation of event production equipment on site
- Leading or assisting with the building and de-rigging of outdoor events such as festivals
- Ability to spot issues and eliminate them before an event
- Ability to provide a seamless installation and operation of equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot any issues if they arise during an event or install
- Testing and checking equipment upon return
- Advise sales and operations team with any equipment technical enquiries
- Ability to preform basic electronic equipment repair
- Loading and unloading of vans and trucks
- Be aware of and comply with company of health and safety policy
Warehouse technician
- Day to day management and operation of the warehouse and vehicle fleet
- Preparation of hire stock for general hire jobs
- Testing and checking-in hire stock when it returns from general hire or an event
- Aiding in the preparation of large event production installation
- Loading and unloading of vans alongside manual handling of flight cases and equipment
- Maintaining stock on rental management software
- Maintenance and quality control of equipment; ensuring any issues are flagged with relevant support
- Ability to forecast equipment shortages and maintenance during peak times, flag any issues with operations team to enable them to arrange sub-hire in good time
- General warehouse maintenance, ensuring equipment is carefully stored and organised
- Maintain and continuously improve warehouse processes and procedures
Customer service
- First point of contact for customer enquires or technical issues/ questions for general hires – Face to face
- Engage Customers while workingon-site by providing outstanding customer service
- Develop working relationships with clients
- Have a broad technical understanding across all areas of sound, lighting and other production equipment to enable you to advise clients events
- Liaise with clients and our operation/sales teams to ensure that the client receives the highest level of service at all times
- Complete customer event reports/ feedback
- Consistently deliver the best quality service to our clients by upholding Fusion values
Desired experience (not essential as training will be provided)
- User of Current RMS/CRM system
- Competent Microsoft packages – Word, excel and outlook
- Practical knowledge of event electrical requirements
- Ability to lead teams and prioritise workloads
Essential experience
- Interest in working technology
- General understanding of event technology equipment.
- Physically fit and capable lifting
- Full clean driving license

Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £26,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
