Warehouse Assistant

Overnight Parcel Department,

Swindon Office

Swift Logistics Group, one of Newbury’s largest employers and the largest independent courier company in the South of England, has, over recent years, coordinated significant growth of their Logistics Division’s across the UK; we are currently looking for candidates that want to join a well- established and professional overnight parcel delivery company based at our offices in Blagrove,
Swindon. You will be working for a very friendly and supportive company with many opportunities to progress within the business for the right candidate.

Job Summary:

The position will include, but not be exclusive to, the following duties,

- completing effectively and efficiently all tasks and processes relating to the receipt of inbound Customer and Network consignments and to comply with all Swift and Network
Policies and Protocols.

- effective and accurate sorting of all consignments to delivery routes, from cages that arrive on the trunk each morning

-effective and accurate unloading of vans, labelling if necessary and sorting into appropriate cages ready for loading on the trunk

-may be required to undertake customer collections/deliveries on occasion.

Candidate requirement:

  • The ideal candidate will need to work well under pressure, working within a very fast paced environment which is deadline driven
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Have a ‘Can-Do’ attitude and be willing to go the extra step to achieve customer satisfaction
  • Must be a strong team player but also work well using their own initiative
  • Good communication skills
  • Accuracy and attention to detail is a must
  • The candidate will ideally have experience in the parcel and logistic industry but this is not essential as full training will be provided
  • Forklift experience an advantage

Hours of Work:

Monday to Friday 15.00-20.00hrs.

  • Warehouse experience: 1 year (preferred)
