JOB TITLE: Warehouse Assitant
BUSINESS ENTITY: HHI
LOCATION: HHI Lisburn
JOB HOLDER’S MANAGER: Branch Manager
OVERALL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
The main purpose of the position is to provide support and assistance at the trade counter to customers, to track and record orders, dispatch orders, and maintain the warehouse in accordance with Health and Safety law and regulation in a supervisory role.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The role will involve:
- Providing quotations and serving customers at the trade counter.
- Preparing customer and internal invoices accurately and efficiently.
- Preparing orders for despatch and ensuring materials are transported correctly.
- Stock control and associated stock checks, ordering and maintaining stock levels.
- Organising warehouse facilities, ensuring both the warehouse and outside yard are tidy and accessible at all times.
- Inputting of inward goods – responsible for the documentation and return of goods to supplier.
- Reporting shortages and damaged goods – responsible for the documentation and return of goods to supplier.
- Driving forklift and stacking/racking new stock.
- Driving company van and delivering materials.
- Participation in relevant training.
- To ensure all areas of the branch has an adequate level of customer and employee Health and Safety.
KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Minimum 2 years’ sales, trade counter or warehouse experience.
- Minimum of 1 years’ experience in a supervisory/leadership role.
- 2 years’ experience operating a forklift.
- Basic IT Skills including Word/Excel/PowerPoint & Outlook.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, organisational and time management skills.
- The ideal candidate will be highly motivated and a strong team player.
- Full, clean driving licence.
PERFORMANCE MEASUREMENTS
- All duties and tasks are undertaken and performed in an efficient, accurate manner resulting in excellent service provision.
- All contracts have to be managed professionally to maximise margin & get repeat business.
- Reaching sales targets.
- Customer retention and feedback.
- Feedback from colleagues/customers.
