Job description

Job Title:
Digital PR Executive
Job Description:
What you will be doing
(Leeds, London and Manchester)
Our client base spans a large pool of industries meaning no two days will look the same for you.
We work with clients of all sizes across home and interior, property, fashion and beauty, finance and legal, travel, leisure and tourism, healthcare, consumer electronics and jewellery – to name a few.
You will be mapped to up to three clients whilst retaining exposure to the wider pool of industries through team ideation and outreach sessions – to ensure you’re challenged but can also put any relevant sector knowledge and experience to good use – regardless of your client mapping.
The core responsibilities for this role are:
  • You will have a strong desire for learning and gaining knowledge in all things Digital PR, spanning all formats; onsite campaigns, influencer content campaigns, reactive/newsjacking campaigns etc.
  • You will be encouraged to develop basic understanding of complimentary functions in the context of Digital PR – research, design, content, organic social, influencer marketing, SEO, UX etc.
  • Be aware of current affairs and the impacts on our clients and their respective industries and use this knowledge to inform creative ideation.
  • Actively become familiar with the day-to-day news agenda across news and social platforms and familiarise yourself with trending industry topics that can be used for reactive PR purposes across relevant clients.
  • Be an active participant in creative ideations, for both your own clients and others and linking all ideas to relevant briefing/strategy and insight documents.
  • Develop campaign/project management skills and taking ownership for your outputs on your mapped accounts – with senior support.
  • Consider the SEO strategy when ideating for PR outputs and ensure reporting is reflective of relevant SEO measures of success.
  • Creating custom, targeted media lists and outreach strategies for PR campaigns that plug in news agenda and sector knowledge.
  • Secure high-quality links from top media / content publishers and websites and take the initiative in changing tactics and angles until we hit desired results.
  • Exhibiting effective communication skills and being confident in building a rapport – often virtually - with both colleagues and clients.
  • Writing for purpose and to a good standard when it comes to spelling and punctuation: press releases, onsite editorial copy, media pitches, client emails etc.
  • Taking on board peer and senior team feedback and applying this to your outputs, striving for continuous improvement in your career and specialism.
The difference you will make

You’ll be passionate about your career in digital marketing and hungry to learn about all things relating to Digital PR: social media, influencers, reactive PR, SEO etc.
  • You’ll be curious. About everything. Inspiration can come from anywhere and the more news, social content, and current affairs you take an interest in, the better.
  • You’ll be results driven, eager to secure success for your clients, driving high-performing links and ultimately improving SEO rankings.
  • Critical thinking is integral to the role. Whether putting your PR ideas through their paces in quality control or being able to identify what hasn’t worked so well, and apply these learnings to future campaigns, you should always be putting your best foot forward with your PR outputs.
  • An analytical brain and an eye for detail will serve you well when reviewing large campaign datasets to get to the most interesting heart of any story, presenting something new, interesting, and unexpected to media.
  • Whilst a previous degree or junior role/internship in media, content, PR, or marketing would be desirable, we’re looking for people with passion over anything.
What you’ll bring
The following attributes will help you thrive in this industry. You will:
  • Love to be ‘in the know’ and keep up to date with current affairs, social and consumer trends, popular culture etc.
  • Be a confident character with an outgoing personality that allows you to thrive outside of your comfort zone.
  • Have strong multi-tasking abilities.
  • Possess career ambition and an appetite to learn and progress through the digital PR profession.
  • Welcome feedback, digest this and apply to outputs with ease.
  • Demonstrate initiative and problem-solving capabilities but can recognise when to lean on more senior members of the team.
  • Be capable of working independently but also as part of small or large teams.
  • Have good attention to detail.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
