Assists Warehouse Management with daily warehouse business activities and planning including: optimizing storage of purchased materials, efficient transportation and supply of components to production lines, ensuring accurate shipment of finished goods to customers, efficient storage of stock, future warehouse capacity planning requirements, tracking and improving delivery performance to customers.

Job Summary

Responsible for receiving, inspecting and putting away stock, as well as picking, packing and despatching customer orders while ensuring compliance with customer requirements and working to the standards set out by the company policies and Health & Safety Executive (HSE) regulations.

Business requirements may require shift work and overtime working including weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • To work as part of a team carrying out all aspects of work relating to distribution including: goods receiving, inspecting, putting away, re-stocking shelves, and picking & packing of products as per clients’ requirements.
  • Using hand-held scanner to process the receiving of goods, putting away of stock, stock queries, and picking and packing of customer orders.
  • Processing stock queries for Care Centres and the Purchasing Department, including returns.
  • Logging supplier and/or product non-conformances
  • Reporting inventory issues, delivery issues, EHS issues or any other issues that may affect productivity.
  • Use of IT equipment to update logs, e.g. non-conformance spreadsheets
  • Resolving enquiries from the Purchasing Team
  • Making up of hold-alls and Home Packs
  • Ensure adherence to the Company Quality Management and EHS standards and Policies.
  • Work efficiently and effectively as part of a team.
  • Ensure working area is always kept clean and tidy and free from any environment, health & safety (EHS) hazards
  • Works to agreed performance targets and standards.
  • To perform any reasonable request from Supervisor including providing cover in other departments when required.
  • Other duties as assigned

Person Profile

Must Have:

  • Secondary Education must have been completed.
  • Experience in the same or similar working environment, good dexterity, basic IT skills.
  • Numeracy & literacy.
  • Ability to follow instructions.
    Ability to work under pressure and to deadlines.
  • Ability to work as part of a team.
  • Flexible & adaptable in approach to work in line with business needs.

Working Conditions

The work environment is a warehouse/distribution centre environment.

Appropriate PPE must be worn; this includes items such as high visibility jackets, face masks, gloves, safety shoes/boots, hair nets, hats and clothing.

Special Factors

With a reasonable amount of notice given by the business, must be flexible with working hours and work schedules to meet business demands; this includes weekend working to ensure Physical Inventory Checks are completed on time and to the required level of quality.
