Job description
To ensure the Warehouse and Logistics function runs effectively. Maximizing daily dispatches to meet stock availability and customer required delivery dates, whilst controlling and minimizing the cost of transport, by ensuring full loads.
- Ensure safe operations within the warehouse and production departments
- Ensure the loading of trailers is done in a timely, safe and controlled manner.
- To cover Warehouse supervisor holidays and sickness.
- Organise stock checks of finished goods, components and packaging materials.
- Organise labour cover in the warehouse department, in the most cost-effective manner with consideration to maintaining the cohesion and development of the team.
- Ensure monthly KPIs are met (see list below) and recorded in-line with the site operations managers targets
- Organise deliveries to customers through the selected transport partner (Downtons) both UK and abroad ensuring they meet the committed customer SLAs.
- Customer collections to be booked and loaded as required.
- Supplier/reprocessing collections to be booked and loaded as required.
- Attend (daily) meetings regarding production and safety and provide info showing the planned dispatches, current stocks and any other info required, for the smooth operation.
- Ensure Forklift Trucks are driven in a safe and sensible manner and the maintenance records are kept as required by law. Damages to be recorded. The same applies to other MHE items.
- Ensure all finished goods, components, packaging materials etc. inventory stock, is accurate (target is 99.5%, by running regular counts and checks.
- Ensure all department documentation is filed/archived correctly
- Liaise closely with Sales and Planning Departments to ensure loads are dispatched on time and transport costs are invoiced correctly.
- Weekly perpetual inventory.
- Ensure items for production are available in the correct location as required, through the warehouse team.
- Any issues arising from production to be managed with production colleagues eg labels missing, pallet shortages, visible product quality or packing issues.
