We are recruiting for our Residential Family Assessment and Support centre based in Bradford BD10
Hours of Work: Night Shift 3 x 12hrs per week (8pm-8am)
Job Description
☐ To work in line with relevant policies and procedures of the centre
☐ To work directly with parents and their children to provide on-going family support as part of their parenting assessment
☐ To ensure residents live in a safe environment in line with health and safety and safeguarding policies and procedures
☐ To ensure all aspects of Health and Safety are maintained within the centre, including carrying out risk assessments and ensuring cleaning is taking place
☐ To work towards the National Minimum Standards and Family Centre Regulations 2002 and adhere to legislation around confidentiality, safeguarding, equality and diversity and inclusion policies
☐ To effectively use and monitor CCTV to gather evidence for parenting assessments
☐ To help service users with their learning, development and life skills
☐ To help service users build physical and emotional bonds with their child/ren through robust parenting sessions and informed evidence-based strategies
☐ To enhance parents’ understanding of child development, education and play and the importance of this
☐ To maintain up-to-date and accurate logs, observations and records of all interactions so that these can inform weekly key worker and social worker reports, and assessments shared with the placing Local Authority
☐ To support the team where needed, in order to cover sickness and absences in order to ensure the effective running of the business
☐ To support families with accessing local resources and support, external to the centre
☐ To assist with the planning and organisation of activities within the centre, for the service users
☐ To support the parents with ensuring good hygiene and health and safety is adhered to within the shared areas of the centre and personal spaces, in order to support safe and effective parenting
☐ To lead by example with professional conduct, modelling of professional boundaries and demonstrate effective maintenance and upkeep of all areas within the centre
☐ To engage positively with supervision and appraisals and take responsibility for your own professional development
☐ To support the management of the centre by working professionally and positively with the Registered Manager, Deputy Manager and Team Leader in day-to-day work
**Please note this is a wake-in night position and therefore you are unable to sleep during your shift**
Experience and Knowledge
Essential
☐ A good understanding and knowledge of issues that may affect families in the present day
☐ An awareness of equal opportunities, anti-discriminatory and inclusion practice
☐ Experience of working with vulnerable adults and/or children and young people
☐ Experience and knowledge of working in a team and the ability to communicate well with others
☐ Knowledge and understanding of safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults
Desirable
☐ Experience of working in a residential social care setting
Qualifications and Training
Essential
☐ A level 3 diploma in children and young people, health and social care, or a willingness to begin this training within 6 months
☐ Grade C / 6 or above in GCSE Maths and English, or equivalent
☐ A willingness and commitment to undertake regular training to the job role
☐ An enhanced DBS and to be on the update service (or willingness to undertake this)
Desirable
☐ Educated to Diploma or Degree level
☐ Specific training related to the sector e.g. domestic violence, substance misuse, addiction

About the Company
Oikos Residential Family Centres provide a safe and supportive assessment environment for families who have had areas of concern, but now have the space to explore solutions and pathways to support their ability to effectively and safely parent their child/children. We provide observations which are robust, child-centred and evidenced based according to best practice and childcare legislation. You will be pivotal in supporting, guiding and educating families on the skills needed to provide the best possible care for their child/children
