Gap Year Students – are you looking to earn some extra cash?
We are looking for students planning their gap year and looking to earn some extra money to fund their next adventure!
Positions are available in late summer / early autumn, or sooner if you prefer. If you want to finish in January to go travelling, we can accommodate that too. Many of our students stay with us right through to the summer to build up a fund to take to university with them, and we are always very happy to see them return for their holiday periods.
We can offer you full or part time work in our Restaurant team where you will learn valuable, transferrable skills that can be utilised throughout the worldwide hospitality industry.
While you are with us you will learn:
- The importance of customer service and the ability to converse with a diverse range of people.
- How to listen and observe your guests and anticipate their needs.
- Learn about food, and the dishes created for a Michelin starred restaurant and how to provide a silver service.
- How to multi-task and juggle many priorities.
- Organisation within a team environment – how to work together with your team and different departments, e.g. our kitchen and housekeeping teams.
- How to remain calm under pressure and present a friendly professional outlook no matter what is going on behind the scenes.

We are based on the beautiful Hambleton Peninsula above Rutland Water so you will need your own transport, or we have subsidised staff accommodation (dependent upon availability at the time – please let us know when you apply if this is required).
