Applebee’s Fish is an established fish restaurant, fishmongers and street food vendor. Our mission is to offer the highest quality seafood experience in London for everyone and anyone.
Having started in Borough Market, London, we have specialised in all things fish and seafood for over 20 years. Our passion has always been to provide both those from London and its visitors with the finest quality fish that comes through UK ports. As well as high-quality food, we also offer an experience to our guests to really get to know the fish that they are eating. Educating guests about where the fish has come from, sustainability and the intricate details surrounding the fish (taste, looks, texture etc.). We are currently looking for someone to join our team and grow with us as a business.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an someone to join our experienced floor team at Borough Market. You will be personable, calm and focussed on the job in hand. You will have great energy and a willingness to learn. You will be great at building relationships with both customers and colleagues. You will have a strong desire to continue learning the job and progressing both personally and commercially.
We are growing rather fast as a business so this person must have the determination to grow and learn in hospitality.
What will your duties be?
- Greet and escort customers to their tables
- Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
- Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
- Inform customers about the day’s specials
- Offer menu recommendations upon request
- Up-sell additional products when appropriate
- Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips or by memorization
- Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
- Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
- Serve food and drink orders
- Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
- Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
- Deliver checks and collect bill payments
- Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
- Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties)
- Follow all relevant health department regulations
- Provide excellent customer service to guests
Required Skills
- Strong at building relationships with people
- Excellent service skills
- Experience in Restaurant setting of at least 1 year
Preferred Skills
- Knowledge of Fish
- Knowledge of Wines
- Allergen Knowledge
Salary:
Ranges from £14 - £16 + hour after service charge distribution. Expected hours are 40+ and more are available also.
