About the role?
We have an exciting opportunity for a Volunteer Coordinator/Administrator to join our team to support us on the delivery and development of our volunteer services in Southern England. This is a permanent role, working full time, 35 hours a week. Reporting directly to the Volunteer Manager, you will be passionate and committed to developing a robust volunteer service in Southern England that supports advocacy delivery.
What will you do?
Contribute to the delivery of a volunteer programme, that is focussed on recruiting volunteers who demonstrate our values
Provide support and development, including meeting training needs, to a team of volunteers who will support our clients
Identify and develop volunteering opportunities, appropriate to the service and to meet the needs of people accessing support
Ensure that volunteers maintain accurate and timely records of their activities
Act as the point of contact for all volunteers working with VoiceAbility in your allocated area
Work with people with a lived experience to help shape, develop and deliver the service
Initiate and establish links with localised volunteer groups
Deploy volunteers flexibly and creatively to ensure they are used efficiently
Ensure all VoiceAbility volunteering and operational policies, especially those relating to safeguarding, are understood and practiced effectively
Share learning with colleagues across the organisation
Actively ensure volunteers are embedded in advocacy teams and are a valued part of the wider organisation
About you
We are looking for a strong leader who is passionate about and recognises the added value that volunteers can bring to an organisation. You will have the ability to manage and train volunteers from diverse backgrounds with varied life experiences, ensuring that an environment of safe practise and support is embedded within volunteer practise and standards.
You will be confident in driving the volunteer agenda within the organisation and in raising its profile with commissioners and other key organisations/professionals. You will operate effectively and efficiently to meet budget requirements and work alongside the Volunteer Manager to address any issues, concerns, or areas for financial improvement. You will demonstrate an effective marketing profile and lead on identifying potential areas for volunteer growth within the area.
