Job description
BNA was selected to design, build, finance, operate and maintain the CAD$5.7 billion (approximate US$4.4 billion) Gordie Howe International Bridge project for Windsor-Detroit Bridge Authority (WDBA).
When completed, the bridge will be the longest cable-stayed bridge in North America. The project includes a bridge and border crossing spanning the Detroit River and connecting Detroit, Michigan, U.S., and Windsor, Ontario, Canada, by linking Interstate 75 and Interstate 96 in Michigan with the new extension of Highway 401 (Rt. Hon. Herb Gray Parkway) in Ontario. The scope also includes building new, state-of-the-art ports of entry on both the U.S. and Canadian sides of the Detroit River as well as improvements to existing infrastructure in both Michigan and Ontario.
The selected candidate will assist in the coordination of design status, construction phase services (CPS), and contract/commercial items. Will manage a team of packages/contractors to ensure all adhere to schedule and revise any/all issues.
Responsibilities/Scope of Work
- Coordinate communication internally between design coordinators and FREs in relation to CPS schedule and commercial items
- Assist in documenting project phases and creating summary reports
- Create project schedules that include materials estimates and manpower needs to be submitted to management.
- Subcontractor Supervision including conducting weekly meetings with Subcontractors (notes and preparing minutes)
- Coordinate and follow up with Subcontractors for day today activities such as submittals, materials delivery, any other field issues
- Prepare Subcontractor monthly payment applications based on measure progress in discussion with line manager.
- Safety, Quality and Environmental supervision
- Develop SOW, JSA and participate in ITP
- Develop Accruals
- Verify that products are available for trades to pick up
- Ensure that each crew has the tools it needs to meet project milestones
- Work with field personnel to handle project issues as they arise
- Perform field measurements, progress measurement in terms of percentage and quantity.
- Prepare field markups, review clashes, capable of providing resolutions in discussion with line manager.

Basic Job Requirements
- Engineering degree or similar.
- Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office
- Proficient with use of AutoCAD and 3D modeling software (ex. Assemble, BIM, Navisworks)
- Knowledge of material receiving and performing basic quality checks as per Project Quality Procedures
- Capable of reading shop drawings, review shop drawings in conjunction with design drawings, specifications
- Quantity estimation based on shop dwgs/design drawings.
- Knowledgeable of quality processes such MAR’s, ITPs, field clarifications.
- Organized and able to handle multiple projects
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Excellent troubleshooting skills and analytical
