Job description
Main Tasks of Job:
Trolley and Car Park specific activities
1. Collecting trolleys and baskets from the car park areas and replenishing them across the store.
2. Assisting customers from the tills to their cars with larger, heavy, or bulky items.
3. General outdoor housekeeping including bin emptying, rubbish removal and litter picking
4. Ensuring the aesthetic of the car park is kept within expected company standards
5. Taking customer orders to the delivery bay and returning unsold goods to the sales areas

6. Demonstrating outstanding customer service and a positive, engaging manner at all times
7. Reporting any pricing issues identified through the till, and taking action to avoid further loss
8. Responding to customer queries and complaints promptly, sensitively and effectively
9. Handling goods carefully to reduce breakages and minimise packaging costs
10. Promoting the Gordale loyalty card
11. Receiving deliveries and checking the stock is as described on the delivery note, completing discrepancy sheets when required. Ensuring credit notes are received for returns/shortages.
12. Ensuring stock is correctly priced and displayed to generate sales, including moving stock to change featured products in key locations and introducing linked products to generate sales
13. Ensuring that all stock is displayed in a tidy, appealing and customer-friendly way
14. Ensuring daily departmental check lists are completed and any issues reported
15. Ensuring your work area is clean and tidy and is safe for customers to enter, completing housekeeping tasks as required
16. Ensuring that all documentation, including customer orders, is completed accurately and information securely stored under data protection rules
17. Ensuring that all signage is showing the correct information, and relevant legal signage is displayed
18. Offering advice to customers to support linked sales
19. Ensuring correct levels of baskets and trolleys are available in your work area
20. Being vigilant for shoplifters and alerting managers
21. Communicating to your Manager ideas that might increase sales or improve customer service
22. Adhering to all policies and Health & Safety requirements as set out by the company
23. Carrying out all reasonable tasks requested by management
24. Carrying out such further tasks and assisting in other areas of the Garden Centre as may from time to time be delegated to you from your manager or other responsible person
