Could you be the welcoming face of Derby Museums?
With three fantastic museums to enjoy in the heart of Derby, our museums inspire the thinker, artist and maker in everyone. Inspiring exhibitions, fascinating collections and a year-round programme of events and activities have provided engagement for over 200,000 visitors of all ages and abilities. The enjoyment of visiting our museums is made even more exceptional by our Visitor Experience Team who go out of their way to make someone’s day.
We are looking for happy and energetic people to join the team and help celebrate and share the many inspirational stories within the galleries. As a Visitor Experience Assistant you will have excellent communication skills and will love having conversations and making connections. An eye for detail and a positive, proactive attitude is a must, as well as being absolutely committed to ensuring everyone enjoys their visit to any of our museums.
As the welcoming face of everything we do, we are looking for people who are open minded and able to respond to any challenge or opportunity that may arise. Bags of energy, enthusiasm and passion are what you will bring to the role and we will make sure that you have the very best training and environment to deliver a world class visitor experience.
Interested in applying?
We are recruiting to a wide range of part time and flexible positions with permanent contracts varying between 13 and 32 hours per week, including some exclusive weekend working. You would be part of a fantastic and friendly team, responsible for welcoming visitors to Derby Museum and Art Gallery or the Museum of Making, with occasional working at Pickford’s House Museum too.
All salaries will be based on the National Living Wage.
We believe that diversity and equality within our workplace, programmes, and in our outlook is crucial. We therefore particularly welcome applications from candidates that are under-represented at Derby Museums and within the heritage sector, including black and minority ethnic candidates and/or candidates with a disability.
