We are a dynamic local authority providing essential services to the people of Gloucester.
The Museum of Gloucester are looking for a new member of staff to work 6 hours every weekend.
You will be responsible for delivering an exceptional customer experience to each and every one of our visitors. As one of the first people our customers interact with when they walk through the door or pick up the phone, you will confidently engage and share Gloucester’s story.
As the face of the Museum of Gloucester you will ensure that our gallery visitors, families, school groups, corporate hires, and visitors to the venue, walk away with the most positive memories of their visit. You will engage with our visitors and tell stories about Gloucester and its Museum Collection.
You will also take every opportunity to upsell and generate income through our events, gift shop and café services and capture donations and feedback whilst building a rapport with your customers.
Skills: Customer service excellence is your number one priority, and you must be passionate about engaging with people. You will be confident in dealing with a wide range of customers and be able to work under pressure. Teamwork is essential; there is no ‘I’ in team when it comes to our cultural venues and you must be confident in your communication skills. Attention to detail is critical as we look for excellence in every single aspect of the role.
This role can also be physically demanding with event set ups and exhibition change overs where moving furniture and equipment can be frequent, so not only will you have a constant smile on your face, you will be prepared to muck in to get the job done.
This role will predominantly be based at the Museum of Gloucester however, your resource may be utilised at one of our other City Council run Cultural venues providing you with great opportunity for personal development.
Working in a 24/7 industry, you will work on an annualised hours contract therefore a level of flexibility is required within the role.
