ACS International Schools are recruiting for an experienced Assistant Finance Business Partner to be responsible for the preparation of timely and accurate organisation wide management accounting information including preparation of the forecasting and budget files, supporting the Schools and Head Office Departments with financial queries and proactive and value adding business support, administer the online financial reporting software.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Responsible for taking the group accounts from Trial Balance to draft Management Accounts including Capex reporting
- Create and upload journal entries to the finance system including accruals/prepayments/intercompany etc.
- Maintain the accruals/prepayments schedules
- Perform month end Balance Sheet reconciliations for group companies
- Create and distribute Cost Centre reporting and variance analysis
- Accurate accounting and reporting for trips/activities/events
- Assist with investigating unexpected variances, flagging issues and identifying corrective action
- Prepare and maintain the budget and forecast files for review by the Finance Business Partners
- Provide ad hoc analysis and finance support to improve business understanding including project reporting
- Communicate and explain finance matters to non-financial managers and assisting the team in developing supportive relationships with School’s senior admin teams and central office Head of
- Assist the Financial Accounting team with the year end audit and procedures (preparation of schedules and answering queries)
- Support the rollout of the new online financial reporting system
- Administer the online financial reporting system
- Proactively look for improvements to processes and controls
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Part qualified CIMA / ACCA / ACA preferable
- Strong Excel skills including experience of formula writing and willingness to learn
- Experience of month end close and adherence to deadlines
- Experience of variance analysis, investigation, reporting and correction of errors thereof
- Sound understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes
- Business Partnering experience helpful
- Access Dimension’s system knowledge helpful
- Strong I.T skills and ability to pick new systems up quickly
PERSONAL QUALITIES
- Good communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Be highly accurate & numerate
- Good understanding of finance processes and of the information needs of budget holders
- Good organisational skills to ensure adherence to deadlines
- Be process driven and have good attention to detail
This is a permanent, full-time role, paying from £30,000 per annum.
