Job description
A vacancy has arisen at our independent veterinary practice for a receptionist. We are seeking a reliable, enthusiastic and flexible individual to help out at our friendly and at times, busy practice.
Responsibilities:
- Greeting clients and answering the phone
- Dealing with requests from our clients
- Providing excellent customer service to patients, clients, visitors, and staff
- Scheduling and confirming appointments
- General office duties including filing, emailing, insurance claims and accounts
- Dealing with medications including ordering and supply
- Collecting payments for services or medications from clients after their visit
- Helping with surgical kits, instruments and veterinary consumables
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
- Must be available to work Monday through to Friday but no weekend work.
- Be able to work a flexible schedule to cover holidays as needed.
- Understand the important of confidentiality.
- Have good computer and communication skills.
- The individual will be mostly based at our Broughton-in-Furness practice, but will need a car to travel to our branch practice at Millom if required.

Salary: £10.50-£12.50 per hour
