Job Title: Visitor Experience Assistant

Reporting to: Visitor Experience Lead and Head of Business Operations

About the role:

Visitor Experience Assistant is required to be a professional, customer focused and enthusiastic individual willing to work as a part of the team to support and represent Beale Wildlife Park and Child Beale Trust. Your aim is to welcome visitors into the park, provide excellent customer service in the ticket office, as well as in the Park gift shop and take active part in any additional visitor related events that may arise during the year. You will take pride in providing clean, sanitary and safe environment for our customers to enjoy.

Responsibilities:

-Taking payments, counting morning till flow and end of the day cash taking, while making sure you adhere to the cash handling policy and procedures

-Reporting any variances immediately to HOD and Head of Finance

- Upselling memberships and promoting Gift Aid donations

-Answering visitors questions and enquires in polite and positive manner

-Answering the phones and managing Park’s administrative email inbox

-Processing memberships

-Communicating with animal team regarding Animal Experiences and making sure visitors meet required standards to participate

-Taking over the phone payments for our gift vouchers, preparing them to be send, updating relevant spreadsheet and storing the recipes safely

- Running online sales report daily and fulfilling the orders in timely manner while keeping the data spreadsheet up do date

-Managing monthly complimentary tickets distribution and logging the data in correct way

-Making sure that Gift Shop and Ticket Office are clean, tidy and well presented at all times

-Making sure Gift Shop is fully stocked and using every opportunity to maximise profit and widen up-selling options

-Helping with extra activities across the park (pop up shops and seasonal activities)

-Behaving in professional and respectable way towards your colleagues and visitor

-Promoting any extra events in the ticket office to maximise profits

-Following Health and Safety regulations in the Park

-Adhering to the correct procedures regarding time off work, sickness and any other HR related topics

Other requirements:

  • Minimum 1 year of customer service experience, demonstrable on application
  • Flexible availability required
  • The successful applicant will be required to undertake a DBS check

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Part-time hours: 21 per week

Salary: £5.28-£10.42 per hour

Schedule:

  • Day shift
  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekend availability

  • Reading: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
