As a Pevensey Castle Visitor Assistant, you will join an amazing small team of employees and volunteers, making sure visitors have a great time from the moment they arrive until they say goodbye. This is a varied role and some days will be busy from start to finish, whereas others may be quieter especially on the wetter days! No two days are the same.
Pevensey Castle welcomes visitors who come to explore the castle and find out about our 1,700 years of history. Within large outer ancient Roman fort walls, lies a medieval moated castle with modern Second World War operation and command post . There is a small ticket office and shop, indoor exhibitions and occasional community events, this role provides an opportunity for you to experience a range of different areas. We are especially keen to hear from you if you're interested in working as part of a small site team where you'll have hands on involvement in many areas of the operation, working independently or with colleagues and volunteers to manage a wide range of outdoors and indoors daily tasks across the whole site.

We are looking for people who enjoy working with others as part of a team to deliver an engaging visitor experience to a diverse audience. Training and support will be provided as part of your induction to the role, but some paid or voluntary experience working with the public may be beneficial.
