As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, you will be joining one of the USA’s fastest growing Importer and Distributer organizations. As part of an aggressive Strategic Plan, the organization are now looking for a Vice President of Sales and Marketing to support in their growth objective, to be recognized as a Strategic Partner to key retailers and growers.
As Vice President of Sales and Marketing, you will have a predominant focus on the growth commodities, Grapes, Avocadoes and Blueberries, whilst overseeing all fruit sales and marketing activity. You will be responsible for building on existing customer relationships through customer visits, so the ability for domestic and international travel is a must, as well as identifying new opportunities in conjunction with the long-term strategic plan. This role will also be fully accountable for the delivery of the sales budget and increasing profitable growth, as well as managing supplier relations.
Your key accountabilities will include:
- Manage the development of the ‘sales and marketing plan’
- Create and maintain internal sales control safeguards in order to achieve the best price for the grower
- Approve and manage changes and improvements in automated sales functions and management information systems
- Support management on strategic decision from a sales and marketing perspective, whilst listening to advise from the team
- Set internal administrative and sales and marketing procedures and ensure they are followed
- Create, maintain and monitor the Sales and Marketing budgets.
- Track financial results of sales and marketing results to budget, actively participating in producing comments on a monthly and annual basis
- Proactively alert management of sales and marketing specific situations with significant financial impact to the company
- Establish and action short- and long-term department and company goals, objectives, policies, and operating procedures
- Recruit, train, coach, support, lead and evaluate staff members
- Thorough understanding of the supply base
- Work closely with the Director of Procurement, overseeing the customer and grower base
- Obtain the highest return for Growers
- Understand and reduce loss to the company regarding, but not limited to: short pays, MG deals, returns, consignment, advances, accounts receivables collection efforts, settlements and troubles
- Manage the “Category Managers”
- Any other duties requested by senior management
Requirements
To be considered for this role you will have a Master’s in Business Administration: Sales and Marketing, or a minimum of 10 years’ experience in this sector. You will be great at leading people, along with strong analytical skills. It is preferable you have worked with Blueberries, Avocados, Citrus or Grapes previously, however, other fresh produce category experience will also be considered. Retail customer experience is preferred however, multi-channel exposure will also be considered for this position.
