JOB SUMMARY: We are seeking a dynamic and strategic leader to join our team as the Vice President of Human Resources at Dollywood Parks and Resorts. This executive-level position requires a forward-thinking HR professional with extensive experience in human resources management and a strong background in developing and implementing HR strategies that align with organizational goals. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of human resources, including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, training and development, and HR compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic HR Leadership:
  • Provide expert guidance and recommendations on HR-related matters to senior leadership.
  • Partner and collaborate with the Property Support Center to align and execute human resources strategies and initiatives that support the overall business objectives.
  • By collaborating closely with the Property Support Center, you will help drive guest excellence, cultivate a great place to work where employees feel valued, engaged, and motivated to contribute their best and help to foster leading with love initiatives, ensuring that our employees are equipped with the necessary resources, training, and support to greatly exceed guest expectations.
  • Measure and drive improvements in HR KPI metrics.
  • Model and demonstrate behavior and decision making in a manner that is consistent with Christian Values and Ethics-we follow the golden rule when completing our mission every day-treat others as you would want to be treated.
  • Model and demonstrate behavior that exemplifies the Herschend and the Dollywood Company culture.
  • Drive strategic planning for organizational and management development for Dollywood Parks and Resorts.
  • Effectively participate as a member of the Vice Presidents team of Dollywood Parks and Resorts and be a collaborative partner with PSC to promote constant improvement.
  • Talent Acquisition and Management:
  • Oversee the full-cycle recruitment process, ensuring the attraction, selection, and onboarding of top-tier talent.
  • Develop and implement effective workforce planning strategies to meet current and future staffing needs.
  • Foster a culture of employee engagement, retention, and development by designing and implementing comprehensive talent management programs.
  • Able to create, manage activities and processes that promote a culture of mutual respect with a high level of employee morale and productivity.
  • Communication, Employee Relations and Engagement:
  • Through strong communication techniques, enable alignment of the entire team on our goals and objectives in achieving our strategic intent and the value each host plays in our success.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive work environment by implementing employee relations programs and practices.
  • Act as a trusted advisor and provide guidance to managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Ensure investigations and manage employee relations and conflicts in a fair and timely manner.
  • Ability to work with others in a friendly, positive manner.
  • Actively participate as a member of Herschend’s Human Resource Leadership Team providing input to Herschend’s Human Resource strategy
  • Compensation and Benefits:
  • Develop and administer competitive and equitable compensation programs that help us achieve being a great place to work for great people.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable labor laws and regulations in the development and administration of compensation and benefits policies.
  • Performance Management and Training:
  • Implement performance management processes to drive employee productivity, engagement, and development.
  • Oversee the collaboration with teams to identify training needs and develop effective learning and development programs.
  • Ensure the effectiveness of training initiatives are evaluated and improvements are made to improve our ability to achieve success on bringing families closer together.
  • HR Compliance:
  • Stay abreast of federal, state, and local laws and regulations related to employment practices.
  • Ensure HR policies, practices, and procedures are compliant with all applicable laws and regulations.
  • Oversee the development and implementation of processes to monitor and report HR metrics to drive continuous improvement.

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required (Master's degree preferred).
  • SHRM/PHR certification preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in human resources management.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
