Job description
This role is involved in many areas of the organization and is responsible for working with department managers, health care professionals and senior level
- Provides corporate leadership, vision, and direction for data warehouse systems, ensuring support of company’s objectives and requirements
- Aligning the D&A platform with the strategic data/analytic needs of the organization
- Develops and maintains D&A production processes through tight integration with the other functions within D&A
- In cooperation with IT, leads and chairs the Architectural Review Board
- Determines data needed to be collected and the appropriate data resources for specific data projects
- Formulates, implements, and enforces proper data collection policies and procedures
- Strategic thinker, proactive team leader with proven ability to manage & implement the complex landscape of data and analytics management using suitable business, data, technology, projects and organization
- Oversees education efforts for users on data collection tools, equipment and proper data collection process
- Establishes data quality standards and works with reporting agencies and organization stakeholders to ensure standards are
- Determines quality data collection techniques are established for reporting purposes
- Establishes and maintains key Data Governance assets in order to insure consistency across the enterprise.
- Leads and documents procedures for data preparation including data cleaning, standardization and analysis
- Directs interfaces maintenance efforts between systems that facilitate the transmission and collection of data
- Ensures data systems are operational
- Develops data collection and evaluation methodologies, including format design, project criteria and requirements, data compilation, relevancy and usage.
- Develops and implements evaluation methodology related to various data programs to determine completeness and adequacy of the data collection procedure.
- Manages all vendors related activity
- Assists reporting agencies with set-up, testing, and implementation of data collection software
- Understands and ensures privacy law and standards
- Evaluates current systems to improve operations and patient care
- Leads validation and documentation processes for team’s work outputs to ensure reliability of models, reproducible results and replication of the production process
- Supervises the production of data reports for distribution
- Effectively engage leadership and business stakeholders to prioritize the department's projects, as well as communicate the department's value back to the organization. Presents data when
- Shares data with other State and Federal agencies, as needed
- Consults with staff on data and reporting problems and assists in developing means to correct the problems
- Fosters relationships with other entities in regards to data collection, reporting and transmission
- Attends and participates in meetings where subject matter expertise is required, as a stakeholder, or as a lead of a steering committee
- Provide consultative guidance and supervisory support to the department's staff and business stakeholders on the department's major analytical projects. This includes participating in steering committees for various organizational
- Develop, propose, and manage budget for staff and technology

- Bachelor’s degree in quantitative discipline required; graduate degree with a quantitative, healthcare, business or technical focus In lieu of degree, equivalent education and/or experience may be considered.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience performing and leading complex data engineering, data quality role in a client services capacity, preferably at a health care organization required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience using MS SQL, MDM/DQM, Data Integration and Dev Ops aimed at supporting health related data and analytics platform required.
- Experience working in the healthcare industry is required
- Awareness of population health analytics and health care data (e.g., CPT/HCPS, ICD9/ICD10, revenue codes, DRGs, risk scores), Medicare and Medicaid value-based care arrangements and dual-risk and capitation models
- Experience with HIE strategy development, execution and management
- Knowledge and Experience in Health Information Systems, Health Administration, or a related field, or equivalent education/experience.
- Advanced experience using MS SQL Reporting Services and reporting applications such as Tableau, Power BI, Crystal reports, MS Excel,
- Experience in the manipulation and analysis of statistical data from large computerized information systems.
