The Chief Administrative Office (CAO) is comprised of several global Corporate Services functions that support JPMorgan Chase's (JPMC) businesses and employees across 60 countries, including Global Real Estate, Global Security, Amenity Services, Document and Business Services, Global Supplier Services, Finance and Business Management, Corporate Insurance, and Corporate Strategic Initiatives. Collectively, these include a diverse set of functions that provide many of the core services provided to employees across the firm, including building management, dining, security, and strategy.
The Operational Sustainability (OS) team, within the CAO, is responsible for the firm’s carbon management strategy, including tracking and reporting the firm’s GHG emissions and progress toward our operational sustainability targets. The team also coordinates the implementation of operational sustainability efforts across the corporate functions, manages sustainability-focused employee engagement, and identifies and sources carbon credits. The Operational Sustainability team is led by the Head of Operational Sustainability, who reports to the CAO CFO. This role will report to the Head of Strategy & Carbon Management for Operational Sustainability.
Job responsibilities:
The Carbon Reduction Strategy and Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Accounting Vice President will play an important role in supporting the team on a diverse range of initiatives, including:
- Managing global GHG inventory and execution of carbon accounting in alignment with industry best practices, JPMC’s sustainability commitments and regulations
- Supporting sustainability reporting, including tracking and quantitative analysis of key environmental metrics and developing dashboards
- Overseeing operational sustainability data to support reporting, disclosure and the management of firm’s environmental impacts, including preparation of annual GHG emissions
- Consulting with external partners and assurance providers to produce and certify annual GHG emissions inventory
- Engaging with teams across the firm to quantify carbon reduction initiatives, develop targets, and measure performance against these goals
- Evaluating the environmental impact of business activities and propose mitigation measures
- Preparing and presenting insights and strategic recommendations to senior management and relevant stakeholders
- Staying up to date on emerging sustainability trends, environmental regulations and best practices in GHG accounting methodologies to ensure compliance with reporting requirements
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills:
We are seeking a candidate with 5+ years of professional experience, preferably with:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in environmental science, engineering, data science, sustainability, or a related field
- Proven experience in GHG management, carbon accounting, and/or sustainability consulting
- In-depth knowledge of GHG protocols and methodologies (e.g., ISO 14064, GHG Protocol).
- Familiarity with environmental regulations and standards related to carbon emissions, including US SEC and EU CSRD
- Prior experience managing GHG audit and assurance processes
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (verbal and written), and ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Exceptional analytical, problem solving and project management skills with a proven track record of execution against deliverables
- Ability to build strong partnerships—shares information, supports colleagues, encourages participation, and drives consensus
- Sound judgment, professional maturity, personal integrity, and strong work ethic
