Job description
PART-TIME PERMANENT ROLE AT THE WHISKY SHOP (not a holiday job).
We are looking for an enthusiastic, intelligent team player and ‘people-person’ to start soon, as part of a small team here at our store in the centre of Bath (BA1 5AQ), working part-time (exact plans largely to suit you).
Weekend work often (but not always) required.
Extensive training will be given (in all aspects of the business, not just whisky!), and you will ultimately be awarded a great deal of responsibility, skills and experience.
£10.97ph
We are a place where the staffs’ wellbeing comes first, where we enjoy what we do and ensure that customers enjoy the exceptional service, products and value we offer.
Please include your CV and an idea of your preferred availability, as well as any other supporting information.
Please note applications without at least a short cover letter (ideally referencing the preferred availability mentioned above) will not be considered.
The Whisky Shop is the largest specialist whisky retailer in the UK with 21 stores. We were established in 1992 and celebrated our 30th anniversary year during 2022.
All candidates must be at least 18 years of age by law to sell alcohol, so anyone younger cannot be considered for this role.
Dedication to retail and great customer service is above all the requirements we are after, therefore experience in a similar speciality retail or customer services environment is beneficial.
An interest, knowledge or appreciation for whisky, in particular Scotch Whisky would be a benefit but you will receive adequate training on product knowledge so this is not essential.
As well as offering great customer service the following tasks will be expected of you-
Operating tills (including cash handling)
Merchandising, displays including windows
Stock replenishment
Dealing with deliveries (which can include manual heavy lifting)
General housework to ensure the shop always looks in good order
Email Correspondence with Clients
We also operate a mail order service, Click & Collect service and a Whisky Auction and some training on these areas will be provided.
Other key attributes include-
Flexibility (we trade seven days per week)
Confidence
Reliability (timekeeping)
Eagerness to learn
The Whisky industry is a great sector to be in and to be able to progress within personally either with ourselves, a growing retail business, or within the wider industry, which can lead to global opportunities.
