We are currently looking for a veterinary surgeon to work in Dover, Kent. This 24 hour hospital boasts a mixed caseload (small animal, exotics, farm, zoo work, wildlife), so the ideal candidate will have an interest and/or experience in one or more of these areas. This is a great opportunity for veterinary surgeons who are looking to consolidate their skills in domestic small animals while looking to obtain experience in other more unusual species. You will be provided continuous support both in practice and through a fantastic training center, work with a great and experienced team as well as able to use state of the art equipment.
Location details: The veterinary hospital is located in Dover, Kent. Dover is a major port town facing into the English Channel and, at just 21 miles from the French port of Calais, it is the closest port to continental Europe on mainland Britain. Besides beautiful cliffs, castles and countryside, Dover has some fantastic beaches including St. Margaret’s Bay and Deal and Walmer.
Salary and benefits: Further to the possibility of working in a beautiful location with a great team, there is also on offer a very competitive salary up to £60000 per year as well as on generous monthly accommodation allowance. This is a 45 working hour week and you will be working 5 days per week day week (Monday to Friday 9 am to 6 pm) and you will be working 1 in 5 weekends. A car is also provided or allowance as well as £1,500 CPD allowance with three days’ CPD leave and in-house CPD training, 5 weeks annual leave plus bank holidays and fantastic career progression opportunities. There are many other benefits available including paid VDS, RCVS and BVA fees.
We can also support Certificates of Sponsorship for a Tier 2 (General) Visa if you meet the criteria and are eligible to register as a veterinary surgeon with the RCVS upon arrival in the UK.
