Veterinary Surgeon – Prescot

At Prescot Vets4Pets we are looking for an experienced Veterinary Surgeon to come and join our great team who have built strong relationships with our existing clients and new clients to grow the business and the client database over the years. The practice team can accommodate either full or part time alongside an established team of a Lead Vet, Part time Vet, 3 RVN’s, 1 SVN and non-clinical team of 5.

Prescot holds the ISFM silver standard cat friendly award, is accredited as a tier 2 RCVS practice, and have the Practice Standards Scheme in place. We are always looking for ways to improve the client journey so Prescot is adopting our new Pathfinder Model, employing Pet Healthcare Advisors to support our clinical professionals in the best way possible, coupled with a reception refurbishment to create a more appealing workspace.

In order to maintain your worklife balance, and enjoy everything that this role can offer, you will work within a 1 in 4 weekend rota with no OOH. Prescot is a well organised, popular first opinion practice with a large following and a varied and interesting caseload. As an experienced vet with a growth mind-set, the capability to work sole charge, completing both consults and surgeries daily so all your skills can be fully utilised. Perhaps you would like to complete a certificate, or you are interested in becoming one of our Joint Venture Partners? Whatever it is we can support you with this.

The surgery itself is fully equipped with ultrasound, x-ray, doppler, multi-parameter, drip pumps, a designated theatre, a cat ward, a dog ward and an isolation ward. We also benefit from being fully air conditioned and having unlimited free parking. Located on The Cables Retail Park in Prescot with great motorway links to the M57 and M62.

Prescot is located in close proximity to the City of Liverpool, a diverse metropolis that was awarded City of Culture in 2008, and has all the characteristics of any major European City with it’s cosmopolitan culture and good local amenities, while retaining the benefits of its relatively smaller size. The great motorway network means you can be anywhere in the North West in reasonable time including Manchester, the Lake District, North Wales, and Liverpool John Lennon Airport if you are looking to travel further afield. The cost of living is very attractive, especially for those keen to step on the property ladder, as residents enjoy a standard of living that would ordinarily require a typically larger salary. Those with school aged children can enjoy a good standard of education and access to a grammar school system.

We offer a competitive salary of up to £60k per annum depending on experience and a generous benefits package that you would expect from a major veterinary employer. We welcome overseas vets and provide fully funded visa sponsorship or a generous relocation package to help you settle into your new home in the Northwest. As an added bonus we can offer you a sign on bonus on joining us and a further payment on passing your probationary period.
