Howells Veterinary Services are a leading veterinary practice situated within Easingwold, North Yorkshire, Howells is a family run veterinary practice dedicated to providing an excellent standard of care. With eighteen Veterinary Surgeons, qualified Veterinary Nurses and experienced support staff behind the scenes, we offer a comprehensive 24 hour service for pets, farm animals and horses.
Due to expansion we are now looking for a veterinary care assistant to join the team!
You will be required to support and assist colleagues in feeding, walking and handling animals, cleaning of kennels and preparation of theatre areas to a high standard. Ensure daily, weekly and monthly cleaning is carried out to a high standard. Ensure all laundry is dealt with in a timely manner. Keep the large animal unit clean and tidy, clean equipment and ensure it is always in a good working order. Complete tasks as directed under the supervision of a RVN or vet. Process urine and blood samples and remove catheters.
A positive and pro-active person is a must. Experience is desirable but not essential. After successful completion of your probationary period a willingness to undertake a Veterinary Care Assistant course would be encouraged.
Working hours:
Week 1 - 9.30am to 6.30pm, Monday to Friday.
Week 2 - 8am to 5pm, Monday to Thursday. 8am to 12pm Friday. Alternate Saturday Mornings 9am to 1pm.
