Overview
Cargiant is looking to appoint a competent Vehicle Technician to join our Workshop, on a Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 6 PM basis (off on all Saturdays Sundays).

The purpose of the role is to carry out initial vehicle roadworthiness assessment on 4-post ramps. It requires good attention to detail and ability to inspect and determine condition of components such as:
- Body, underbody and structural parts
- Tyres wheels
- Brake hoses, pads discs
- Exhaust system
- Suspension
- Operation of engine, gearbox/clutch, steering
- Fluid/oil levels
- Dashboard warning lights
- Lights, lenses, mirrors, windows
- Vehicle interior its functions
- Vehicle features (e.g. air conditioning, sound system, electrics)
Also, the role involves moving vehicles within the Workshop site in an efficient, professional manner whilst adhering to Health and Safety guidelines.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Demonstrating reliability and punctuality as per Cargiant’s clockwork-like operation
- Performing the above tasks and logging them on designated inspection sheets.
- Consulting with Supervisors where major faults are identified.
- Referring inspected vehicles to relevant departments as per faults found.
- Maintaining good standards of housekeeping and workmanship in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines and Company Policies.
- Undertaking general workshop ad hoc duties as required.
Health Safety Responsibilities

- This includes reporting all accidents and near misses to management.
- Reporting any potential issues which could cause harm.
- Behave in a manner, which acts in line with the standards set out in the Health and Safety Manual and Company Handbook.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum NVQ level 2 (or equivalent certification/proven experience) in motor vehicle repairs.
- A full and valid driving licence.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work on own initiative to targets, achieving high standard of workmanship.
- Flexibility to work in the outdoor elements with a sensible approach to tasks given.
- Willingness to undergo training and learning where required.
- The drive to work at World’s Largest Car Dealership and grow alongside the Company.
