JOB TITLE: Vehicle Collection & Delivery Driver
REPORTING TO: Head of Logistics
DEPARTMENT: Transport
Saxton 4x4, the UK’s largest independent used 4x4 and luxury car dealership, stocking over 1000 vehicles, based in Chelmsford, Essex, is recruiting for an Vehicle Collection & Delivery Driver to join the company at a pivotal point in its growth.
We are looking for a Vehicle Collection & Delivery Driver to join our growing team. A vital role that sits within our logistics team and key to the successful flow of vehicles being collected & delivered around the country. This role will be responsible for collecting freshly purchased vehicles and also delivering sold vehicles, directly to the customers home address. Using a truck and trailer you will work independently between the hours of 7am & 5pm Monday to Friday. 1 in 3 Saturdays 8am - 3pm.
A typical day:
- Checking lights & levels of the tow vehicle and trailer.
- Liaising with transport manager and buying team directly for the collections & deliveries for day ahead.
- Planning your journey and calling your customers with your ETA.
- Collection and delivery of vehicles from customers’ homes or work premises, ensuring collection and/or completion of all paperwork required.
- Appraising the vehicle and reporting to the buying team before they action any payments.
- Loading vehicles on and off of a trailer.
The ideal candidate:
- Confident driving a truck and trailer
- Full, clean UK driving licence with B&E towing capability
- Experience driving high end, large vehicles ideal
- Experience in a similar role
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work to deadlines and targets
- Strong organisational skills
- The ability to work as part of a team but alone also, using own initiative
- Confident and professional communication skills
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £25,000.00 per year
