Driver's Mate/Retail Assistant
Location: Burnley
Salary: £17563 FTE
Hours: 35hrs per week working 5 days out of 7 on a flexible rota
Brief overview of the position:
To support the Retail division in maximising sales, stock control and donations.
To support Van Driver in Collection and delivery of donated items, including large furniture and electrical items and assist with the redistribution of stock, fixtures and fittings between branches
Be able to undertake some heavy lifting when required when collecting and distributing donations to AUKL retail shops across Lancashire
Main duties and responsibilities:
To be an active member of the Retail Team, supporting all initiatives with passion and enthusiasm.
Work with a positive and ‘can do’ attitude
To support with house clearances and transfer appropriate donated goods to the shop
To work with the Shop Manager and undertake retail duties, leading a team of volunteers
Holding the shop in manager’s absence
Always maintain a high standard of customer service whilst working on the van or in the shop.
Excellent customer service skills and respect for people's property and donations
Continuously look for ways to improve their own personal performance as well as their team and shop performance.
A full driving licence and a willingness to travel, the local area

The nature of the post will require travel within a defined area. A full driving licence, appropriate insurance cover and use of a car are essential.
DBS: This post is eligible for a basic DBS check and all the associated costs will be met by the employee. The cost for the DBS check is £23 plus an additional administration charge of £5.50 totalling £28.50. This amount will be deducted from an employees first salary with Age UK Lancashire.
