They are undergoing a significant digital transformation and are investing in building out their digital and technology unit to transition them towards being a digital product led organisation. Job summary:
As a UX/ UI Designer (Product Designer) you will be part of the founding design team within the newly created Design Department, reporting to the Head of Design. You will work towards establishing a customer-centric design culture and developing a fit-for purpose self-service data product as the company moves to become a product centric organisation.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate solid understanding of common visual and interaction design principles and practice, and create appropriate sketches, wireframes, flows, design comps, and prototypes with guidance.
- Value and apply existing customer insights from research to guide design decisions as well as initiating and supporting research efforts with research partners
- Frame problems and opportunities clearly through analysis of qualitative and quantitative inputs, and customer and stakeholder perspectives
- Gain experience in facilitating idea generation with cross-functional teams
- Use design system effectively and appropriately and understand differences and similarities between design systems/platforms.
- Create routine, informative communication materials explaining design thinking & decision-making rationale to team members and stakeholders.
- Partner with product managers, engineers, and content designers to solve for customer problems leveraging an agile way of working
- Collect, process and act on design feedback constructively
- Design explorations and solutions which are focused on customer needs, wants, and problems
Qualifications
- You have strong UX design experience on B2B and B2C products
- You have experience with UX Strategy, UX Research, UX Design and UI Design
- You've worked with a variety of tools; you'll be able to recommend and use what you think is best e.g. Figma, Adobe suite and others
- You have a wealth of experience creating design wireframes, prototypes, and mock-ups for developers to convert to code
- You have design thinking experience to discover problems and come up with creative solutions by thoroughly understanding users' goals, frustrations, and end-task
- You're collaborative and pragmatic with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, happy to mentor and develop others
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in; Visual Design, Human-Computer Interaction, User Experience, or related Design field.
- Knowledge, interest, and passion for the environmental and / or sustainability space will be an advantage
