Data Analyst

Our Opportunity

We are looking for a Data Analyst who wants to work as part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team! You should be interested in collecting, translating and studying data to increase business insight within the UK Engineering function. In this role, you will with work with PowerBI gathering requirements for dashboard reports from a wide range of contributors. You will develop dashboards in order to create data visualisations and present the data back to audiences as required.

Day to day you will:

  • Collect dashboard/report requirements from a wide range of stakeholders
  • Develop dashboards/reports/data visualisations to enable data analysis.
  • Creation/presentation of business gate packs for review by the digital ops council
  • Manage, clean, abstract and aggregate data to be used by operations and the business’
  • Manipulate and link data sets
  • Summarise and present data and conclusions, tailoring to audience as necessary.
  • Respond positively to problems in databases, processes, products and services.
  • Champion Engineering discipline specific data products
  • Champion best practice and standard ways of working including working with the digital ops team, UK Engineering Data Team and Specialist Engineering Team (self-service analysts).

About you

You will have a previous experience in a Data focused role ideally with a background in computer science or software. You should be self-motivated and able to manage your workload and meet your objectives whilst working autonomously. You will have excellent communication skills and be able to collaborate with stakeholders at all levels. An analytical mind-set and the ability to create stories with data will be key to your success in this role

Additional Security Information

Due to the sensitive nature of much of the work, all applicants must be eligible for UK MoD Security Clearance (SC level minimum).
