Job purpose

We are looking for a talented UX/UI Designer to join us for 6 months (potentially longer). You will work in a lean, collaborative manner to help shape the experiences of the Soldo products. As a Designer in Soldo, you will collaborate with Product Owners, other Designers and Engineers to define and implement innovative solutions for the product direction and visuals through our web and mobile experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong visual style and a proven track record of creating exciting solutions to meet business requirements.

You will be responsible for building amazing user interfaces from scratch that customers want to use time and time again. You will collaborate with other Designers and UX Researchers to drive your design processes. You will thrive in an environment with like-minded collaborative and creative people. You’ll share our prioritisation of user-centricity and passion for learning and experimenting and you’ll be responsible for getting these principles into products that surprise and delight our customers.


Other responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with Product teams to develop use cases and high-level requirements
  • Creating visual design mockups and prototypes as needed to effectively conceptualise and communicate detailed interaction behaviors
  • Defining developing and presenting innovative visual design concepts across multiple channels
  • Applying excellent technical competency in all UI Designer skills, focusing on pixel-perfect visual design and animation for each platform.
  • Knowing when to follow our design system guidelines and when to break it to create engaging layouts
  • Working within the constraints of customer specifications and technical integrations
  • Executing all visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering
  • Working closely with the design and development teams to oversee the implementation of the design assets and layouts, leveraging existing design patterns and systems.


We're looking for someone who must have:

  • Demonstrated hands-on working experience and an accompanying portfolio of web/ mobile digital experiences
  • Uses an analytical and data-driven approach for creating user interfaces
  • Has experience creating responsive user interface designs for web as well as native apps
  • Understands typography, colour theory, grid systems and has a deep knowledge of user interface approaches across a range of digital platforms
  • Experience with a design system and component libraries
  • Product development understanding – Comfortable working closely with other Designers and Engineers with the ability to solve problems creatively and effectively
  • Technical understanding – Familiarity with development software and development processes
  • Has developed design patterns for reuse and consistency (style guides and pattern libraries)
  • Owns a strong sense of personal motivation, being able to work independently with a proactive attitude in solving complex visual problems in different contexts.
  • Basic understanding of Front End technologies: HTML, CSS, REACT, JavaScript
  • Proficiency in a variety of design tools such as Figma, Adobe CS Suite, Principle.
  • Great communication skills, strong Interaction design work with the ability to convey concepts also through wireframes and user flows
