And right now, we are looking for a UX Designer to join the Product team at Saga Media. You will be championing user needs and empathy through researched, considered and verified designs that deliver genuine value to our customers.
We are changing the way we engage with customers, with our new cutting-edge digital platforms like the ‘Saga Exceptional Website’. You will be reporting to the Head of UX Design and working with other colleagues across Saga. You will also partner with external agencies and other UX participant, research and testing platforms.
You will have technical accountability and will follow our product processes and document user research and insights into our UX research repository to make information discoverable. You will also have responsibility for the definition and design of well-considered and validated solutions to prioritised product, user opportunities, requirements and problems.

Main Responsibilities- Contribute to UX research that discovers and defines user needs, problems, and opportunities. You’ll contribute to our continuous discovery process, participate in deep-discovery interviews and play a key role in both moderated and unmoderated user testing.
- Using Figma, create and refine wireframes and prototypes to define the front-end design of the platform and products, with a great understanding of UX best-practice (specifically for the 50+ audience), structure, typography and function.
- Author user-stories and acceptance criteria to ensure an effective hand-over of the design through to development.
- Communicate effectively, offering advice and support to team members to maximise team performance, growth, and efficiency.
- Facilitate (when appropriate) and contribute to workshops that explore, define, and prioritise problems and opportunities.
- Contribute to the documentation of research and user insights into our research repository.
- Participate in UX Expo presentations and channels, to share user insight, in progress and released work, and results to the wider team; always promoting and encouraging user empathy.
- As a key creative in the Saga Media team, you’ll also use your design expertise and creative experience to support the department and wider team.
- Demonstrable experience with UX Design, preferably for a content-rich web platform, working to people-centred design practices.
- Discovery, moderated and unmoderated UX research.
- Responsiveness and accessibility in web design.
- Experience with Figma, Sketch (or similar) for design and prototyping.
- Figjam and Miro (or similar) for collaborative workshops.
- Maze, Lookback, Prolific and user interviews (or similar) for research and verification.
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite.
- Basic familiarity with HTML, CSS and design for web constraints.
- Keen interest in UX research.
- Jira (or similar) for product processes.
- Working in a multi-disciplinary, agile product team.
- Effective Communication skills.
