Play a key part in determining our response to crime.
We have an exciting opportunity for Crime Bureau Investigators to join Leicestershire Police on a full-time permanent basis, based at Force Headquarters in Enderby.
You will play an essential role in the Crime Bureau department, acting as an initial investigator, using available information and decision-making tools to determine the most appropriate response to each crime. This will include identifying and recording potential lines of enquiry over the telephone and making referrals to relevant teams.
As a competent IT user, you’ll use IT systems to manage calls and record crimes in compliance with local, regional and national guidelines, making sure that decisions are recorded accurately.
Using your excellent communication skills, you will have the ability to manage conflict and have difficult conversations with customers, including victims of crime, sometimes in emergency and stressful situations.
Teamwork is key to this role as you work with colleagues, external agencies and other forces as we all work together to keep our communities safe and bring offenders to justice.
You will be expected to be flexible in your attitude to working hours, covering shifts across 7am to 10pm, Monday – Sunday on a three-week rotational pattern, covering both early and late shifts as part of your working week.
As well as an attractive salary, you will receive additional enhancements to reflect the shift and weekend working, including a 14% shift allowance and weekend hours payment where applicable. Please refer to job description for full details.
For a full-time employee on the standard working pattern, at the bottom of the salary banding, the overall remuneration package with allowances is over £27,000 (gross).

For part time hours the salary will be calculated on a pro-rata basis, this is based on the number of hours for the vacancy.
