Nurun
Full Time Toronto 75280 - 70041 CAD ANNUAL Today
Job description

Company Description

Nurun crafts useful digital experiences that elevate brands and transform businesses. From creating products and services to data science and human research, we take the best of agility and apply a hybrid approach to adapt to the needs of our clients. Even after delivery, our involvement does not stop. We push the limits of technology to evolve and optimize our products and their performance.

We are looking for an intermediate-level UI Designer to join our extended team and support with the design of meaningful and intuitive solutions via beautiful interfaces, smart visual storytelling, and scalable concepts to solve complex problems for our clients and their customers

By nature, Nurun is fundamentally human; from our culture of collaboration, to how we work with our clients, to how we empathize with them and serve their customers’ needs. It is critical that our candidates operate at this level, supporting and enriching our human-centric culture.

Job Description

Our human-centered design team is looking for a self-driven, strong User Interface Designer to work alongside our cross-functional team of senior UI designers, strategists, UX designers, copywriters, product managers, and developers to design customer-facing experiences for one of our core clients. Together, you’ll drive user-focussed digital transformations that reward the users while moving the needle for our clients' business.

In this role, you will likely be involved in several experiences serving the same client, but the bulk of your time will be spent on their corporate website redesign. Other tasks might include the expansion of the web style guide, UI site maintenance, custom icon creation, prototyping user flows, etc.

If you are collaborative, with strong critical thinking skills, proficient in creating visual mock-ups and prototypes in Figma and are confident in your ability to deliver highly effective, innovative, and evidence-based solutions, you’d fit right in.

What you'll be doing at Nurun

  • You’re a big-picture thinker: You are eager to bring your visual design skills and operate at scale, creating designs that are modular, repeatable, informed by best practices, and within the client’s brand, personality, values, and previously established design standards.
  • You’re collaborative: You can work with senior UI designers, UX designers, product designers, copywriters, and developers to ensure your interfaces follow the established user journeys and enhance the overall user experience and solution.
  • You’re an artist with a technical flare: You are efficient and organized in all technical aspects of design, and can clearly outline visual experiences from screen to screen and work with front-end development to define web style guides and deliver designs that will look as good developed as they are designed.
  • You’re a design champion: You defend design choices using previous research & testing, heuristics, proven interaction patterns, and usability standards
  • You're an artist through and through: You're fluent in relevant industry design, prototyping, and collaboration tools such as Figma, XD, Miro, After Effects, Principle, Flinto, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
  • You’re empathetic: You are a champion for inclusive and accessible design, and make sure your designs are usable by as many people as reasonably possible, without the need for specialized adaptations. This can include different aspects of human diversity such as ability, language, culture, gender, and age

Qualifications

You’re multi-faceted: you can produce concept boards, responsive web layouts, design systems, illustrations & icons, data visualizations, and other design artifacts and have a portfolio to show this.

  • Bachelor's degree in visual design & communications or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2-6 years of relevant experience, ideally with a digital agency.
  • Strong portfolio of 3-5 pieces demonstrating your craft in concept boards, UI design, web animation, and prototyping for screen-based experiences (e.g. mobile, responsive web).
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills; the ability to clearly communicate ideas that are backed by research.
