Job description
We are looking for someone to join our very busy team, full time, and assist with the day to day running of the workshop operations. This is a support role to our experienced upholsterers, allowing them to spend more time upholstering furniture, whilst the general operations of the workshop are looked after. This is an essential role for the smooth running of our team and our ability to meet our monthly targets so we require someone with maturity and effective communication skills to add value to our team.
Key deliverables
· Physically able to lift heavy furniture
· Loading and unloading furniture from the main workshop area to storage areas
· Wrapping furniture for delivery
· Organising the workshop materials in compliance with health and safety regulations
· Cleaning the workshop floor every Friday afternoon
· Furniture frame pick-ups from our frame maker in Swindon, using the company van
· Measuring frames to ensure they were made per order specifications
· Collecting supplies from various locations around Stroud, as needed
· Supporting the deliveries team when items need to be moved from the workshop to the main Tetbury showroom
· Filling cushions using our feather machine
· Staining oak legs
· Organising client’s fabrics and maintaining a storage system for them
· Receiving deliveries from our suppliers
· Keeping an eye on delivery deadlines and ensuring items are wrapped and ready to go when needed
· Monthly stocktake
About you
· You will be able to think on your feet, organise a to-do list and prioritise tasks by the needs of the team
· You will have a positive “can do” attitude and no job is too small or insignificant
· You are flexible and able to go with the flow depending on the daily needs of the workshop
· Willing to learn new skills and organisational systems that suit our company’s processes
· Physically strong to be able to lift and move heavy furniture around
· Independent and self-motivated
· Quick problem solver
· Able to follow deadlines and monthly deliverables
· Team player and an effective communicator
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: £23,000.00 per year
