Job description
The Hartford is seeking an individual to work as a member of the Operation’s Underwriting Support team across International Financial Lines (Management Liability, Professional Liability & Financial Institutions)
Job Responsibilities & Competence
- To support the business functions under International Operations
- Timely and efficient processing of data into Underwriting systems for risk capture, endorsements and exposure data ensuring accuracy of data with relation to both underwriting, aggregate and earning exposures
- Act on exception reports in a timely manner to ensure accurate risk details are maintained on Underwriting Systems
- File risk information and manage workflows onto the document repository within the designated timeframe, to ensure a complete and accurate audit trail of all substantive business activity
- Work alongside Centralised Underwriting Operations team for any reporting requirements
- Ensure Production Report up to date and accurate as possible, ensuring that you prepare and attend weekly underwriting meetings
- Compile data and conduct routine tasks to support Underwriters
- Other ad hoc tasks aligned to International Operations
- Become proficient and take the lead in the knowledge of underwriting systems, processes, procedures, and exposure management
- Develop knowledge of market dynamics and market cycles, support the performance of the Underwriting team

IT skills
- Good knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
- Use of Lloyd’s underwriting systems including Subscribe, Genius, Exact Advantage preferred
Educational Requirements
- Minimum GCSE or relevant experience in an underwriting support role
Experience
- Relevant experience of working for a Lloyd’s Syndicate/London Company, preferably in an underwriting support role preferred, but not required
